As part of Ingleburn's (Western Sydney, NSW) recent rezoning of the city centre and rail adjacent corridor, we were engaged to design a keystone multi residential project - with a focus on affordable housing.
This presented an opportunity to propose living solutions that looked at an integrated approach to sustainability, affordability and community orientated design within a future growth area.
An approach that focuses on fostering a sense of community, shared spaces such as communal gardens, roof top terraces and communal rooms will encourage social interaction and a sense of belonging.
As a first within the Ingleburn R4 re-zoning and in an effort to reduce the architectural visual scale along the streetscape, strategic breaks in the facade intersect with circulation paths, dividing the building volume into three.
A simple design approach utilising a combination of robust materials and sustainable construction practices will allow the project to focus on high-quality outcomes at a lower cost.
